The Undeath of Narrative and the Horror of Seriality
If tragedy offers us the possibility of healing, horror mimics its gestures but leaves you with an open wound
The following is a recording of I made recently of a talk I gave during the 2015 Camden ComicCon. In it, I reflect on why I gave up reading The Walking Dead, using my weariness as an opening onto the connection between seriality and horror. I still haven't returned to the book, but I have thought of a few great ways for it to end. Mostly I just want it to end.
